The Civic Center is located on Market, Leavenworth, Post and Franklin streets, and is centered around City Hall. City Hall, a national historic landmark, is a striking building designed with a gold-leafed dome in a Beaux-Arts-style, offers free tours Monday through Friday (call for times and availability). The Civic Center is also surrounded by the Main Library, the War Memorial Opera House, the Asian Art Museum and the Louise M. Davies Symphony Hall. With all its elegant buildings and bureaucratic structures the Civic Center is a place to consider visiting while in San Francisco.
