DAY1 Home - New York City (Free Airport Pick Up)

After your arrival in New York City, the most populous city in the United States, our tour guide will meet you directly at the airport (JFK / LGA / EWR) to transfer you aboard our scheduled group shuttles to the hotel (check-in after 3PM).

DAY2 New York - Option Tours

Option A: Atlantic City
We’ll depart New York in the morning for the popular seaside destination of Atlantic City. Known for its boardwalk, casino gambling, sandy beaches, shopping centers, view of the Atlantic Ocean, and as the inspiration for the board game Monopoly, Atlantic City is a fun and hip getaway destination. Guests can try their luck at one of 11 casinos located in the area, or walk along its charming Boardwalk, filled with shops and restaurants. Casinos may provide complimentary meal coupons and match play bonuses, providing even more value and chances to win! (All guests must be over the age of 21). Afterwards, guests will board transportation for the hotel or continue on a night tour of New York to find out why it’s called “the city that never sleeps” (optional).

Option B: Self Guided New York City Tour:
Guests can spend the day on self guided tours of New York. Your tour leader will provide drop off service in the morning in downtown New York. From there, the day is yours to explore. Visit Times Square, the heart of the city’s theater district, to take in a Broadway show, or stroll along the tree lined walks of Central Park. You can blend in among the fast-moving crowds in Grand Central Terminal, or tour the vibrant galleries in Soho. Pretend to be a local, and board the various subways traveling under the city, or book a helicopter tour of Manhattan. At 7 pm, guests will return to our tour office to board transportation for the hotel or continue on a night tour of New York to find out why it’s called “the city that never sleeps” (optional).

Option C: New York - Woodbury Common - West Point Academy
In the morning, we will head to Woodbury Common Premium Outlets. Featuring 220 outlet stores with famous labels such as Giorgio Armani, Burberry, Jimmy Choo and Yves Saint Laurent at discounted prices, visitors will have the opportunity to purchase brand names at often significant discounts of up to 25%-65%. From there, the tour continues to the United States Military Academy at West Point*. The academy sits on scenic high ground overlooking the Hudson River and the entire central campus is a national landmark and home to scores of historic sites, buildings, and monuments. It has produced numerous successful graduates among its more than 50,000 alumni, including Presidents Ulysses S. Grant and Dwight D. Eisenhower, and Generals Lee, Patton, and MacArthur, to name a few. In the evening, the tour will return to New York. After the tour, guests will board transportation for the hotel or continue on a night tour of New York to find out why it’s called “the city that never sleeps” (optional).

DAY3 New York

We will spend the day touring New York City, the center of global commerce, finance, media, culture, art, fashion and entertainment. Here, we will visit the Empire State Building*, the Art Deco styled building that spans 102 floors, and offers breathtaking 360 views of New York. Next, we’ll take a boat ride around Manhattan Harbor* where you can see the Statue of Liberty and the incredible skyline. From there, we will board another vessel, the USS Intrepid*, home to the Intrepid Sea, Air, and Space Museum, which exhibits military aircraft, including fighter jets, helicopters, and even a submarine on its flight deck. Next, at the Metropolitan Museum of Art*, we’ll get a glimpse of their impressive collection of artwork that spans from classical antiquity to more modern masterpieces. We will have an opportunity to tour luxurious Fifth Avenue, known for its brand name shops and being the “main street” of the fashion world. Then it’s on to a tour of the United Nations headquarters, the center for international diplomacy. And if there is time, our tour may view other notable sites such as Wall Street and Ground Zero in the Financial District.

DAY4 New York - Philadelphia - Washington D.C.

We’ll depart from NYC in the morning to walk along the historical cobblestone streets of Philadelphia’s Independence Mall State Park, where we’ll see the Liberty Bell in its newly renovated home at the Liberty Bell Center, as well as Independence Hall and Congress Hall, birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. Moving on to Washington D.C., we’ll visit Capitol Hill and the White House, home to the U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives as well as the President of the United States; the National Air and Space Museum, which houses the largest collection of historic air and spacecraft in the world; and the stately white marble Lincoln and Jefferson Memorials which honor these notable past presidents. Next we’ll pay tribute to more modern heroes at the Vietnam and Korean War Veterans Memorials, both simple and moving monuments to men who sacrificed their lives for their country. If season and weather permits, we’ll take a scenic and relaxing cruise on Potomac River* to experience the city from the water, where we’ll get views of the Pentagon, the Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts, the infamous Watergate Hotel, and more.

DAY5 Washington D.C. - Hershey's Chocolate World - Corning Glass - Niagara Falls

Hershey's Chocolate World, with its marketplace, shops and restaurants sweetly beckons our tour this morning. Once here you can take the chocolate tour, offering views of the chocolate making process, view a spectacular 3-D Show,*and/or participate in special chocolate tastings. Later, continuing on our way north, we’ll make a special stop at the Corning Glass Center*, a showcase and museum for the art and science of glassmaking. Here you will witness first-hand how craftsman and artisans work superheated glass into beautiful decorative pieces; at the conclusion of our visit, you will have the opportunity to purchase these unique items for yourself or a loved one in the Center’s wonderful gift shop. Afterwards, the tour will head to Niagara Falls to enjoy its beautiful night views. In what’s now a 140-year-old tradition, every evening the Falls are illuminated in changing colors of the rainbow.

DAY6 Niagara Falls – Toronto

Today we’ll truly experience Niagara Falls in its full fury and majesty—as the most powerful waterfall in North America, an average of 4 million cubic feet of water falls over the crest every minute. First, we’ll take a thrilling boat ride aboard the world-famous Maid of the Mist* which offers up close and exciting views of the Falls (seasonal). Next, at the IMAX Niagara Falls* “The Falls Movie: Legends and Daredevils,” we’ll see and hear the unforgettable stories of the courageous few who have dared the waters of the powerful Falls. We’ll also visit the Skylon Tower*, where we’ll get spectacular views of the region from 775 above the mighty Falls. Our tour then departs for Toronto, where we will visit Toronto's City Hall and Parliament Buildings, the Sky Dome Sports Complex, the University of Toronto, as well as the CN Tower*, its most recognizable landmark and the tallest building in Canada. At the top of the tower, enjoy panoramic views through glass floor observation decks and see why this structure was recently nominated one of the Seven Wonders of the Modern World. We may also join a Lake Ontario cruise* to take in the city's beautiful skyline, followed by dinner in Chinatown.

DAY7 Toronto – Thousand Islands – Ottawa – Montreal

Leaving Toronto in the morning, we head for Thousand Islands region. Situated between Canada and the United States along the St. Lawrence River, there are actually 1,864 individual islands that dot the waterway. We’ll take a cruise* in this special area, where we’ll see sights including the romantic Boldt Castle, built in the 1890's by millionaire George Boldt for his beloved wife Louise, as well as the "Shortest International Bridge in the World," a small footbridge across two islands located between Canada and the United States. Afterwards, the tour heads for Ottawa, the Canadian capital city, where we will visit the magnificent Parliament Building and the stately Clock Tower nearby. Then it’s on to the French Canadian city of Montreal, where we’ll tour the Olympic Tower*, part of the Olympic Park built for the 1976 Games, as well as two of the city’s major churches: the Notre-Dame Basilica, similar to its counterpart in Paris, as well as St. Joseph's Oratory, a major site of Roman Catholic pilgrimage and worship.

DAY8 Montreal – Quebec* – Boston

The tour departs Montreal for Quebec City in the morning. Once in the city, we’ll visit the historic area of Old Québec, designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. There you will have the opportunity to stroll through the beautiful downtown district, admire the medieval style St. Louis Gate, and photograph the majestic Château Frontenac perched nearby above the Saint Lawrence River. You will also visit Quebec’s La Citadelle, an active military garrison that sits atop the hill overlooking the city and is home to the Royal 22e Régiment “Van-Doos” (the French speaking regiment of the Canadian military forces.) We’ll next make our trip across the American border and into Boston, where we should arrive in the evening for a quick tour of the downtown area and a stop at Quincy Market, one of Boston’s oldest (and liveliest) gathering places. You will also have a chance to sample some delicious lobster*, a Boston favorite, during dinner.

DAY9 Boston – New York - Hometown

We will take a city tour of Boston in the morning, beginning with the campuses of Harvard University and MIT, two of the most prestigious places of higher learning in the world. The tour will continue to Boston Common, a 50 acre park in the heart of the city and the oldest park in the United States, and the State House, the prominent golden-domed seat of the Massachusetts legislature, which sits atop Beacon Hill. Season and weather permitting, we will take a harbor cruise* to observe Boston's working port and examples of extravagant waterfront living. After the cruise, passengers have the option of being dropped off at Boston’s Logan Airport for their return flight home, or continuing on to New York for their departure flights.

For guests leaving from Boston, please schedule flights to depart from Boston (BOS) after 1:30pm (The tour will be at the Logan airport at around 11:45am).
For those leaving from NYC, they will be transferred to New York (JFK / LGA / EWR) via bus and board flights there after 7pm (The tour will be at the airport at around 5:00pm).

Flight arrangement: There are still travel activities on the last day of the tour, please schedule flights to depart from Boston after 1:30pm or New York after 7pm.
Airport greet and meet: Your tour escort will be wearing a yellow uniform and holding a sign with your name. Domestic arrivals, your tour escort will wait at the baggage claim area/outside of the arrival's (restricted) area. International arrivals, your tour escort will wait just outside of customs exit.
Language: All tours are escorted by professional bi- or multi-lingual tour and/or driver guides (English/Chinese). Depending on the number of passengers booked for a particular departure, tours and/or languages may be combined to operate the tours.

Redemption

Complete Operator information, including local telephone numbers at your destination, are included on your e-ticket. You must print the e-tickets and take them along on your trip; they are your proof of purchase.

Booking changes
A fee may be charged for any revision or alteration made to a reservation after the booking is confirmed. Name changes or corrections may be treated as a cancellation and cancellation fees will apply. A change of tour date or tour itinerary may be treated as a cancellation, and normal cancellation fees will apply.

Cancellations and Cancellation Fees
Regardless of reason, cancellations result in costly charges from our travel and hotel providers covering penalties and fees incurred by canceling confirmed and pending bookings. Therefore, cancellation penalties and or fees will apply. Time of cancellation will be determined when notice is received and confirmed by our office. Notice of cancellation must be made directly to Taketours by email or through web mail at Contact Us .

Cancellation penalties per person for 1-4 days tours

15-30 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
7-14 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
4-6 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
Within 3 days prior to departure - 100% of total purchase amount.
Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.
Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation. We reserve the right to cancel a schedule trip to fully refund affected customers although tour companies will make every efforts to maintain the normal operation.
There is 6% handling fee add-on to the above penalties.

Up to 46 days prior to departure - 10% of total purchase amount.
21-45 days prior to departure - 25% of total purchase amount.
8-20 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
1-7 days prior to departure - 50% of total purchase amount.
Day of departure or no show - 100% per person.
Unused features are non-refundable. No shows forfeit entire payment.

NOTE: We cannot grant any refunds more than 30 days after completion of tour.

Itinerary Variations
We constantly strives to improve tour itineraries and features. If such improvements can be made, or unforeseen circumstances beyond our control make changes necessary - we reserve the right to vary itineraries and to substitute hotels. At certain peak periods duplicate departures may operate, and sometimes in reverse order in which case hotels may vary from those stated on the itinerary pages.

Tour Cancellation:
We reserves the right to cancel or re-schedule any tour departure in accordance with operating requirements or circumstances beyond its control. If cancellation is made any time prior to departure* of the tour, Taketours' only liability will be to refund to the passenger the amount it has received for the tour booking. We will try to re-book the same or similar tour.. Please note that we are not liable for any cancellation penalties incurred on any other travel arrangements including air tickets purchased separately from customers.

1	What is the "Buy 2 Get 3rd Free" policy?

We currently offer Buy 2 Free 3rd Free discount and the Triple Occupancy* rate has been adjusted to reflect this discount. *Total cost of a Double Occupancy is same as the total cost of a Triple Occupancy.

2	May I have the hotel accommodation details for this tour?

The itinerary/details page of the tour will have information about the level of hotel. Most hotels are around 2 stars (local tours) and 3-4 stats (5+ days vacation packages) and you may get the exact hotel details while reconfirming your tour.

3	Where will we have meals in this tour?

Meals are NOT included in the tour price but our tour guide will arrange meal stops. Normally we stop at a plaza to have some fast food, or stop at a restaurant and passengers can order.

4	Where are the pick-up locations of tours?

Departure information, including time and location, is listed in the “Departure And Return Details” section of the tour itinerary. There is often a link to a map as well. Every e-ticket includes full pick-up time and location information. Please print out your e-Ticket and bring your ID to board the bus.

5	Can I pay this tour by cash?

No. Gotobus is a complete online travel company and uses a completely secure and automated booking system, therefore we can only accept bookings made online, using an authorized and valid credit card, check (by fax or mail) and money order (by mail).

6	What does the Lodging pull-down menu mean?

This is where you select how many people will be in your room. Double occupancy for hotel room is only guaranteed with a tour purchase by two persons. Single room is only for one person and price is higher. Family triple arrangements can be purchased with three tickets. Family quad arrangements can be purchased with four tickets.

7	How to select and pay the optional admission fee?

It should be paid upon arrival. Please bring cash for optional admission fees, meals, as well as tips to tour guide.

8	Do I need to pick up a physical ticket?

No. You do not. E-Ticket will be automatically emailed to you after you complete your booking online. All you need to do is to bring a valid picture ID along with a printout of eTicket you receive to board the scheduled bus.

9	Why can’t I find the tour date I want in this tour?

We only post available dates in our website. If you can't find date before last showed date in the tour, it means no service available. Also, we currently accept 60-90 for tours days advance bookings for tour service; if the date you want is outside this range, please bookmark the schedule page, as product updates occur every day.

10	Can I change my seats on the bus?

Seats are allotted on first book first served basis, we can make special arrangement if you can produce doctor's note etc.

11	Can you send me a brochure for this tour?

You will find an electronic brochure for each tour on our website describing all activities and itineraries. Printed brochures are not available. If you do not find adequate information about a tour on our website, please contact our online help. Contact customer support

12	How to cancel this tour?

This is our first tour to the East Coast. Charlene is our USA tour guide and Andy was Canada tour guide. They were both very informative and helpful whatever we asked. With a 9 day trip to US and Canada, this is very long trip and they did their best to accommodate a whole group of tourists. They were very patient and caring to each family. Also the drivers drove so smoothly and safely. They were so helpful with us. The trip was well worth it. Just sit tight, relax and enjoy the scenery. Take lots of pictures. Nine day trip went so quickly. We made friends on the way. Everyone was so happy to see breathtaking views, so green scenery, wonderful museums, exciting cruises, and had delicious lunch together with other tourist families. After all this is a vacation why make it difficult for everyone. The last day of the trip was so sad. We waved goodbye to the friends. We took the trip in July so it was so warm and humid so prepare to bring lots of water bottles, a good pair of shoes, comfortable clothes, sun glasses and hat. One of the most expenses that we spent was buying water. To my family, we didn't have enough time at Quebec City. The city is so beautiful. It has a lot of charming houses, arts stores, cobble stones and historic towns and we had to hurry back to the group luncheon so we missed a lot of places and didn't enough time to buy the postcard from Quebec. It's one of the hobbies I do is collect postcards from all the places that I visit. I feel really bad because I don't know when I will come back. Besides that, other places were short of time too, but it's ok since we didn't really miss much. Notice: Make sure you have enough cash to pay for the admission fees and service fees. All the activities are optional so if you don't want to join, you can walk around the city, but you will miss a lot of things. The first day was so bothersome. Most of the tourists didn't know which bus/seats to go to so the tourists were all over and asked the guides. There was no line so everyone was kind of pushes his/her way to find out the answer. That was awful. Maybe, there should be a sign "Line Here". Another thing that we like is every day we were all rotated the seating chart so everyone has a chance to sit in the front. No one complained.
