Walk through the displays of over 45,000 unique glass pieces and explore the science and technology that has shaped the art of glassmaking for more than 3,500 years. We’ll leave the Corning Glass Museum and arrive at Niagara in the evening, just in time to view the beauty of the Falls illuminated at night. Overnight accommodations in Niagara.
In the morning, we’ll venture out to Goat Island to get a stunning view of the three falls that comprise Niagara: the Horseshoe Falls, American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls. You might think you’re close to the water, but you won’t understand real excitement until you take the boat ride to the edge of the Falls aboard the “Maid of the Mist”*- an unforgettable part of your visit to Niagara. Around lunchtime, we’ll depart Niagara Falls and to make our drive to Boston, where we should arrive in the afternoon for a tour of the oldest university in the United States and world-renowned institution of higher learning, Harvard University, as well as its neighbor down the street, MIT, the home of technical innovation and engineering greatness. At dinner, we’ll stop to sample that perennial Boston favorite, lobster.
Today we’ll take a whale watch cruise*, where we’ll get a guided tour of Boston Harbor and venture out to sea in search of this magnificent aquatic mammal. In the off-season or if the weather doesn’t cooperate, we’ll head into the heart of the city for an in-depth tour of the historic city of Boston. We’ll see the magnificent gold dome of the Massachusetts State House, browse the collection of shops at Quincy Market and the renowned Faneuil Hall, followed by sightseeing in Boston’s vibrant Chinatown. Next, we’ll visit the tallest building in Boston, the John Hancock Tower, and then make our way to one of the most interesting churches in the city, the First Church of Christ, Scientist (or the Christian Science building), which sits in a scenic plaza with fountains. We’ll then complete our tour of Boston and return to New York City, where we should arrive by 7:30 PM.
