Today we’ll depart Chinatown at 8 am for our day of exploration. Start the day off taking in the sights of the Big Apple as you go from commercial hubs like Chinatown, Fifth Avenue, Wall Street, and Times Square, to city landmarks like the Empire State Building, the United Nations Headquarters, Rockefeller Center, and Ground Zero, to the unique attractions that the city holds in store, such as Madame Tussauds Wax Museum*. The Circle Line Cruise* will take you onto the bay for a waterside view of Manhattan Island and the Statue of Liberty. After an eventful day, we’ll stay overnight in our hotel in nearby New Jersey.
In the morning, we’ll leave for Niagara Falls, stopping along the way at Hershey, Pennsylvania for a taste of all the treats in store at the Hershey’s Chocolate World. There are rides and tours that showcase the work that goes into the making of chocolate products, as well as tasting events, gift shops, and 3-D Show* that are sure to stimulate every sweet tooth on the trip. In the afternoon, you’ll reach the Corning Glass Museum* in upstate New York, to gaze upon the world’s most extensive collection of glass objects and art. Walk through the displays of more than 45,000 unique glass pieces and explore the science and technology that has shaped the craft of glassmaking for over 3,500 years. In the evening, you’ll arrive at Niagara in time to see the Falls illuminated for a special night show.
Witness the natural wonder that is Niagara Falls in its daylight splendor as you view the three separate falls that make up this attraction. You will see the American and Bridal Veil Falls coming together over the edge of the landscape, and feel the raw power of the Niagara River as the water pours down Horseshoe Falls, as if slowly eating away into the land that supports it. We may also have time for a ride aboard the famous Maid of the Mist cruise*, which will take us right up to the very base of the Falls. After lunch on the border between Canada and the United States, we’ll travel on to Boston, Massachusetts to see the prestigious campus of Harvard University. Once there, for dinner, you’ll be able to enjoy a meal of fresh New England lobster.
Today we’ll explore the streets of Boston, stopping first to visit the MIT campus, home of technological innovation and engineering greatness, before heading into the heart of the city for a glimpse at the magnificent gold dome of the Massachusetts State House. Then browse the collection of shops at Quincy Market and the renowned Faneuil Hall, followed by tour of Boston’s vibrant Chinatown. You’ll see the tallest building in Boston, the glass-encased John Hancock Tower, and then move on to the nearby First Church of Christ, Scientist, one of the most interesting churches in the city. We’ll complete our tour of Boston with a wonderful Harbor Cruise* that will take us onto the water for panoramic view of the port, before returning to New York City, where our tour will conclude at around 7:30 PM.
Maid of the Mist: Available from April to October (opening dates depend on ice conditions on the river).
