See the Liberty Bell in its newly renovated home at the Liberty Bell Center and stroll through the centuries old Independence Hall and Congress Hall, birthplace of both the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. From Philadelphia, the tour continues to Washington D.C., the nation's capital.

Visitors have the opportunity to explore pristine monuments to great American figures and notable American events alike, such as the Lincoln Memorial, the Jefferson Memorial, and the Vietnam and Korean War Veterans Memorial. Both the Lincoln and Jefferson Memorial features astounding statues of the historical figures, housed in a magnificent marble structure. The Vietnam Memorial, designed by Maya Lin, is a simple yet touching site containing a monument inscribed with the names of lost and fallen soldiers. The Korean War Veterans Memorial is equally inspiring, capturing the tension and uncertainty of war on faces of the fighting forces. Time permitting, the tour will continue to the National Air and Space Museum, which houses the original 1903 Flyer plane designed by the Wright brothers, the Spirit of St. Louis flown by Lindbergh, and actual spacecraft such as the Apollo 11 command module.

Our second day in Washington D.C. offers a flexible itinerary - visitors are free to further explore the renowned museums near the National Mall. Of the many options available to sightseers, this includes the Smithsonian Museum of Natural History as well as the National Gallery of Art. The Smithsonian Museum of Natural History offers over 125 million well preserved specimens of plants, animals, fossils, minerals, gems, and meteorites, while the National Gallery of Art features a wide ranging worldly art collection. Visitors may also wish to explore America's rich history through the National Museum of American History, which is home to the original Star-Spangled Banner and Dorothy's ruby slippers from the Wizard of Oz, or Ford's Theatre - the site of Lincoln's assassination. The options are endless, and visitors are sure to create a perfect day of sightseeing for themselves. Our Tour Leader will rejoin you in the evening to escort you back to the hotel.
