Day 1 :

New York - New Haven - Mystic - Newport - Boston

Today we’ll depart from Manhattan in the morning for the tree-lined campus of Yale University, the renowned Ivy League institution which is consistently ranked as one of the top universities in the U.S. After exploring the beautiful school grounds, the tour will continue to Mystic, Connecticut, a former shipbuilding port and now idyllic seaside town. We’ll pass through Old Mystic Village, with its colonial architecture and quaint shops and restaurants, as well as have the opportunity to stop at Mystic Aquarium* (optional). The aquarium is a world class science research center, and is home to more than12,000 fish, invertebrates, and marine mammals from around the world.

We will then proceed to Newport, Rhode Island, crossing the famous Newport Bridge to visit the stunning Breakers Mansion. Here visitors can experience the past wealth of America's Gilded Age. Built as a summer home for Cornelius Vanderbilt, the vast 11-acre estate features entire rooms that were crafted in Europe and shipped to America, as well as prized examples of Renaissance art.

The tour will arrive in Boston in the evening, where we will have the opportunity to visit Quincy Market. Situated between Boston's financial district, the waterfront, North End, Government Center and Haymarket, the vibrant Quincy Market is America's oldest gathering place, full of shops, restaurants, street performers, and other entertainment. While you’re here, be sure to get a taste of Boston’s best-loved seafood dishes, including that perennial favorite, lobster.

Upon the conclusion of the tour, visitors will board a coach bus (Fung Wah or Lucky Star) to return to Manhattan. In order to provide the most flexibility, visitors will return without the Tour Leader, so that they can depart at the time of their choosing (Estimated arrival in Manhattan will be 11 pm).
