Katrina / City Tour

Experience a tour that blends our city's 3 year history since Hurricane Katrina with our 300 year history since our founding! This tour modifies the traditional Super City Tour to include the Ninth Ward, one of many New Orleans neighborhoods devastated by the flooding caused by multiple levee breaks. We'll pass the house of the legendary rock and roll pianist Antoine Dominique "Fats" Domino, and learn of his personal journey through the storm. The tour continues along Esplanade Avenue, includes a visit to a unique above-ground cemetery, and past City Park en route to Lake Pontchartrain. In the Carrollton section view Xavier University, the only historically black, Catholic University in the Western Hemisphere, before following the path of the St. Charles Avenue streetcars past Tulane and Loyola Universities, across from Audubon Park, and the exclusive Garden District.
