Day 1 : Boston - New York City Tour |
We depart early in the morning and arrive at noon at our destination: the famous "Big Apple" - New York City. Our tour bus will bring you to visit the Empire State Building,* the tallest building in Manhattan, an iconic landmark from which you can gaze across the panorama of the United States’ largest city. Next we will board a New York Harbor Cruise,* from which we will view the Statue of Liberty, the symbol of freedom which greeted and awakened hope in thousands of immigrants upon their arrival in New York in the late 19th and 20th centuries. From here, our tour will also include sights such as the United Nations Headquarters and Times Square, the famous neon-lit symbol of commercial America. We will then explore either Madame Tussauds Wax Museum,* home to many meticulously crafted wax models of celebrities and historical figures, or the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and experience the many interactive exhibits aboard the U.S.S. Intrepid, the famous World War II aircraft carrier, at the Intrepid Sea-Air-Space Museum.* If time permits, we will close the trip by touring the art deco masterpieces of Rockefeller Center, brain child of visionary philanthropist John D. Rockefeller. |
Day 2 : Corning Glass Center - Niagara Falls |
From New York, We head to the Corning Glass Center, featuring over 30,000 objects from every era of glass-making, including real glass-making on-site. Visitors can see the fragile art of glass-making. You will witness firsthand craftsman and artisans handily making superheated glass into delicate decorative pieces. |
Day 3 : Niagara Falls - Toronto |
This morning we’ll head to Toronto and arrive around 10:00 am, where we will visit the CN Tower,* the tallest free-standing structure in the Western Hemisphere, as well as the Toronto City Hall with its immense, futuristic architecture. We will then embark on a cruise of Toronto Harbour* to see a panoramic view of the great city from the water and then move on to the Scarborough and Chinatown districts to do some shopping in Toronto’s most diverse and multicultural areas. |
Day 4 : Toronto - Thousand Island - Ottawa - Montreal |
In the morning, we will depart for the Thousand Islands, arriving around noon at the stunning archipelago of more than 1800 islands which extends sixty miles into the northeast outlet of Lake Ontario. As we navigate among the islands on the Thousand Islands Cruise Boat,* we will have the opportunity to enjoy the clear water, picturesque landscape, and unique scenic attractions of the islands, as well as the many glamorous waterfront homes in this favorite living location for the wealthy. On the cruise, we will pass by the world-famous Boldt Castle, Millionaire's Row, and Zavicon Island. (Note: The Thousand Islands cruise is only available from May to October.) Our next stop will be Ottawa, the capital of Canada. After our arrival around 3:00 pm, we will have a short tour of Parliament Hill, home of Canada’s parliament buildings, the Centennial Flame, and Peace Tower. We will also have the opportunity to see Embassy Row, a residential area for many foreign ambassadors, and the Rideau Canal. Around 6:00 pm, we will arrive at Montreal, the world's second largest French-speaking city. After our tour concludes for the day, don’t pass up the opportunity to stroll along the city streets, full of quaint architecture, shops, and French restaurants! |
Day 5 : Montreal - Quebec - Boston |
In the morning, we continue our tour of the romantic city of Montreal. Its stunning architectural sites, such as the Notre Dame Basilica and Saint Joseph’s Oratory, are well worth the visit, as is Montreal’s Olympic Stadium,* built for the 1976 Olympics. We will conclude our tour with the picturesque Mont Royal, the mountain that gives the city its name. If we have time on our way back to Boston, we may stop to see the Ausable Chasm,* a sandstone gorge in the Adirondack Mountains in upstate New York. We should arrive in Boston around 7:00 pm.
