From the shining seas to the magnificent mountains California is known for its adventurous lifestyle. So what better to do on your vacation than to immerse yourself in the local culture. One way for travelers to San Francisco to do this is join us on a whitewater rafting trip to the American River. Not only will this adventure encompass the thrill of the river it will also allow you to visit the area responsible for the Gold Rush. It was on the American river where John Marshall discovered gold and thrust California into the forefront of American wealth and culture bringing people from around the world to find their fortune.

This incredible whitewater rafting trip will expose you to a series of several exciting class three rapids on the American River, one of California’s premier rivers. This wild and scenic river will also expose you to the beautiful landscape of the Sierra Nevada Foothills. After rafting our guides will provide a tasty BBQ lunch along the riverside in this beautiful and scenic river valley. In order to work off the calories from the BBQ we will have an opportunity for a game of volleyball. Do not forget a dip in the river to cool off for the ride home. Arriving back in San Francisco in time for dinner where you will be able to reflect on your true Californian Experience.

• Air fares between your city and San Francisco

Departure Details:

• Complimentary hotel pick-up service is available from all downtown hotels in central San Francisco area between 6:00am and 7:00am. Please advise pick-up hotel at time of booking and call upon arrival in San Francisco to reconfirm pick-up time.

• Destination Location - Located in the heart of the California Gold Country, the South Fork of the American River is a historic and scenic waterway. In 1848 gold was discovered by John Marshall on the banks of this river triggering the largest migration of human beings in written history. Today you can relive some of this rich history as you bounce and laugh your way down this beautiful river canyon.
• Is This Trip For You? - If you are into excitement and fun, then this trip is for you. No experience is necessary as our well-trained guides will brief you on the do's and don'ts of whitewater rafting. Your safety is a number one concern for us and that is why every person is given a safety meeting and simple training before getting on the river. This river is great fun for the beginner/intermediate paddlers. Due to the inherent risk with water sports no one under 8 years of age is allowed on this trip.
• Guide - Our whitewater rafting outfitter has a stellar record of safety that is maintained by using only trained, qualified guides on the river.
• Travel Companions - We use 15 passenger alternative fuel vans. We limit the group size to 13 for your comfort and for more flexibility. For larger groups we can arrange special group rates and charter discounts.
• Food - An All-American hamburger bbq is provided after our trip down the river. Just the right thing to fill your stomach after the thrilling rafting ride. Vegetarian meals available upon request.
• Transportation - We use 15 passenger alternative fuel vans with climate control and stereo sound. The fuel we use is a vegetable based diesel fuel that burns cleaner than fossil fuels to protect the environment.

Recommended Gear List:

• swimwear. sun protection. shoes you don’t mind getting wet (and that will stay securely on your feet). dry change of clothes for after rafting. T-shirt or long sleeve shirt if you are sensitive to the sun

• Trips require a minimum number of participants to avoid cancellation.
• If a reservation cannot be confirmed, customers will receive an email and/or phone call within 1-2 business days after booking.
• Cancellation Fee: 20% of total trip price for any confirmed reservation canceled up to 72 hours prior to tour departure; 30% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 72 and 24 hours prior to tour departure; 50% of total trip price for any reservation canceled between 24 and 12 hours prior to tour departure; 100% of total trip price for any reservation canceled within 12 hours of tour departure or No-Show
• We are not responsible for any cancellations or modifications of tours due to weather condition, road hazards, vehicle breakdowns, or other unforeseen conditions that may hinder the ability for the tour to take place as scheduled.
• We reserve the right to cancel or modify any trip due to weather conditions or other circumstances beyond our control. In such cases, we cannot be responsible for paying any expenses you may have incurred other than to refund monies due to you for tour price.
