Extraordinary any time of year!
Mount Charleston is extraordinary any time of year, with each season unveiling its own unique grandeur. Featuring trees like juniper, mountain mahogany, Aspen and Ponderosa pine and animals such as wild burros, songbirds, deer and desert tortoises, Mount Charleston feels a million miles away from the city.
This exciting tour takes you through the Toiyabe National Forest, into a majestic alpine setting. We stop at the charming Mount Charleston Lodge, nestled amid a spectacular forest of ponderosa pines. From its dramatic perch at more than 7,700 feet above sea level, the Lodge commands a stunning view of Kyle Canyon. Hiking trails lead to such natural wonders as Mary Jane Falls.
Views of the jagged, towering cliffs, encompassed by the fir, spruce and aspen trees make this landscape simply gorgeous. Descending through Kyle Canyon, we venture off the highway for an excursion through the desert that exposes the true natural beauty of this one-of-a-kind region.
Temperatures are approx. 20-30 degrees cooler, layered clothing is recommended.
