At Local Tastes of the City - Night Tour of Chinatown and North Beach, you will go into local bakeries, restaurants, and cafes, and taste the food. You will eat your way through Chinatown and North Beach! You will go into and spend time with local artisans as they practice their crafts. Guests will go into the places that are the reasons most San Franciscans cannot ever think of leaving here, the places that evoke the creativity and lifestyle that is unique to San Francisco.

On their own, Chinatown and North Beach stir your senses. Together, they awaken you to new flavors, new cultures, and to parts of your heart. You'll start by exploring Chinatown by twilight, including tasting dim sum from one of the oldest bakeries in Chinatown. You'll delve into Chinese mysticism and culture, as well as explore local sculpture and architecture.

Tea is to Chinatown as North Beach is to coffee and you'll try both. You'll search out authentic Chinese and Italian crafts and pottery. You'll uncover their hidden secrets only intrepid locals know. And you'll be astonished by the new finds in secret alcoves. Just when you think you can't feel any more romantic, you discover quaint shops with incredible crafts and ceramics that fill you with a sense of awe.

From wine to Dim Sum, fortune cookies, and teas, to cappuccinos in the very places where the Beat Generation started and Barbary Coast history that made San Francisco what it is, you'll feel like you've really experienced Chinatown and North Beach.

And for the optional full meal that follows, with multiple courses, you'll have the option of a favorite Italian restaurant, with wine, desert and several courses, at a restaurant that's recently been rated as one of the best Italian restaurants in San Francisco, or Chinese, from one of the City's favorite local Chinese restaurants. After every course, you'll swear that the food was so incredible that nothing could be better, only to find out that the following dish tops it. The optional complete meal after the tour is an additional $20-25, depending on the restaurant. You are welcome to enjoy the meal privately or as part of the group.

Below is the itinerary for the Night Tour:

• We'll start with Dim Sum (a variety of Chinese foods) at the oldest Chinese Bakery in San Francisco.
• We'll be seeing how fortune cookies are made and exploring the real Chinatown.
• And, of course, we have to do a tea tasting.
• We'll explore the beat generation of North Beach as we go into the very place where Francis Ford Copola wrote the Godfather screenplay and the place where Bill Cosby and Steve Allen got their start. And it feels and looks exactly the same as when they got their start. And, we’ve got to have pizza and wine in North Beach.
• We'll be seeing authentic Western saloons and the back parts of North Beach.
