| Walking tour of Oxford: For over 900 years the university town of Oxford has been renowned as a centre of academic excellence. Among its famous students were Bill Clinton, Lewis Carroll and C.S. Lewis. Enjoy a gentle walking tour with your guide through narrow alleys and ancient squares where time stands still. We will see the Bodleian Library and the beautiful college courtyards.
Christ Church: We will visit the grandest college of them all, Christ Church. Many of the scenes in the Harry Potter feature films were shot in various locations of the college and the Great Hall was replicated in the film studios to create Hogwarts Hall.
Lunch in Burford (Optional): We will visit this thriving old wool town built along a steep high street which leads down to a medieval bridge spanning the River Windrush. Burford is full of crooked little Cotswold stone houses, leaning walls and gabled cottages. We will stop for lunch in a traditional English pub.
Cotswolds: Steeped in history, rich in heritage and awash with natural beauty, the Cotswolds is a charming blend of bustling market towns, sleepy villages and breathtaking natural scenery. Optional lunch will be taken in one of the Cotswold villages.
Shakespeare's Stratford-Upon-Avon: We visit this delightful market town, steeped in culture and history, at the edge of the Forest of Arden, best known for being the birthplace of the world-famous playwright, William Shakespeare. We visit the half timbered house where he was born in 1564, gaining a fascinating insight into his childhood.
Anne Hathaway's Cottage: Enjoy a visit to this picture-postcard half-timbered childhood home of William Shakespeare's wife which is set in lovely surroundings and contains a treasure-trove of historic domestic artefacts.
