In the morning, your guide takes you to the Garden Bridge, originally built by an English businessman in 1856. You are able to see the private residence and office of Victor Sassoon, former Banque de I'indo-Chine, the Glen Line Building, the former North Daily News Building, the Shanghai Customs House, the British Municipal City Hall, the former Shanghai Club and etc. All these buildings are lined along the Bund making it into an open air and living museum of late 19th and early 20th Century architecture. Xintiandi is the busiest commercial centre. Many fashion shopping malls, bars, restaurants, cinemas gather here. Among this modern area, there is a local style terraced house of Shanghailander. Old furniture and house wares are displayed in the exhibition house without owner.
