From the Spanish Conquistadors, to the American Pioneers, to the writings of Jack Kerouac, the open road has held an irresistible allure to those who want to explore America's vast western expanses.
And here in one itinerary is a chance to see everything that makes America great: First, it's the towering granite cliffs and stalwart pines of Yosemite. Then comes Las Vegas' visceral rush of excitement and neon sparkling in the desert. Then the wide-open Arizona countryside and the majestic gaping cliffs of the Grand Canyon.
Then it's on to Los Angeles, in many ways the quintessential American city. First Hollywood - the dream factory where the globe's celluloid miracles are born.
Take an excursion into Baja California, Mexico. From Tijuana to La Bufadora, Baja California has a unique charm all to its own with strong architectural influences from both US and Mexican style. Stay overnight in the lively port city of Ensenada.
