You will be collected from the airport and transferred to your excellent San Jose hotel with some free time to explore the thriving town, its restaurants and its vibrant nightlife.

Overnight:  Adventure Inn *** or similar

After breakfast in your hotel you will be met by your tour guide for an excursion into the mountains that surround the city. Your trip will take you up to Poas Volcano for a view of spectacular landscapes and a hike through a wildlife rich cloud forest. After lunch you will visit the historical towns of Grecia and Sarchi for an insight into traditional Costa Rican life.

Following a full traditional breakfast you will make the journey by road and boat from San Jose down towards the Caribbean coast and Tortuguero National Park. After lunch at your excellent-quality lodge you will take a tour to the nearby Tortuguero village and a visit to the fascinating museum at the Caribbean Conservation Corporation. That evening you have the option of taking a nighttime tour to witness Tortuguero's green turtles returning to shore to lay their eggs.

Overnight:  Pachira Lodge *** or similar

Before breakfast you will take a dawn boat trip out into the National Park for a chance to catch some of its inhabitants in their natural environment. You will then return to your lodge for breakfast before setting out on a guided hike through the Park, and will spend the afternoon on a boat tour of Tortuguero's waterways, lagoons and mangrove swamps.

After another full breakfast you will take a transfer down the coastline to your hotel in the vibrant Caribbean town of Puerto Viejo. You will have the remainder of the day to absorb the town's relaxed vibes and enjoy the long stretches of beautiful beaches and calm waters.

Overnight:  Azania Bungalows *** or similar

You will be collected from your hotel for an excursion into the Manzanillo refuge, a short distance from Puerto Viejo. The refuge is known for its stunning beaches and coral reefs as well as its dense tropical forests, home to countless species of native creatures. After your full day exploring the refuge you'll be taken back to Puerto Viejo to enjoy the evening at your leisure.

Overnight:  Azania Bungalows *** or similar

After breakfast you will be collected and transferred back to San Jose for your return flight home or to continue your Costa Rica vacation.
