Day 1 : Arrival at La Fortuna & Arenal Volcano

You will transfer from San Jose airport on a journey through stunning landscapes towards the town of La Fortuna, nestled under the shadow of Arenal Volcano. You will be taken to your quality hotel and have some free time to explore the quaint town.

Overnight: Arenal Observatory *** or similar

Day 2 : Arenal Volcano

After a tasty and traditional breakfast of gallo pinto (rice, beans and plantain bananas) you will make the short journey to the active side of Arenal Volcano for a guided hike through this dramatic landscape. The hike ends at a viewing platform for the best chance to see lava rolling down the sides of the volcano. Your day finishes with a visit to some local hot springs where you can relax in this paradisiacal setting.

Day 3 : La Fortuna - Quepos & Manuel Antonio National Park

Following breakfast you will take a transfer down from the mountains towards Costa Rica's Pacific coast and the fishing town of Quepos which lies next to the beautiful Manuel Antonio National Park. Arriving at your pleasant hotel you will have some time to explore the town or relax on the beautiful, secluded beaches.

Day 4 : Manuel Antonio National Park

You will be collected at your hotel for a professionally guided excursion into Manuel Antonio National Park. Your guide will help you spot and identify some of the numerous creatures hiding in the branches of this tropical forest, including sloths, monkeys, snakes and even anteaters. After your day of exploration you will be returned to your hotel to relax by the pool or enjoy the local beaches.

Day 5 : Quepos & Manuel Antonio National Park

After breakfast you will have a free day to spend at your leisure, either visiting the town of Quepos or with another visit to the National Park. The region offers no end of attractions for the traveler, from relaxing under the sun on the gorgeous beaches to taking a sport fishing excursion on the Pacific Ocean.

Day 6 : Departure

Following your final breakfast you will transfer back to San Jose airport for your return flight home or to continue your Costa Rica vacation.
