Day 1 : |
Our excursion begins by picking up all passengers between 9:00-10:00am from the lobbies of all major Cancun hotels.
When we arrive at the Mayaland Hotel around 1:00pm to take a delicious buffet lunch with typical Yucatan dishes as well as poultry, hamburgers and salad bar while watching regional people dancing folkloric music. Now we are ready to get into the archaeological site by the private gate of Mayaland.
Once inside, we will divide groups into English and Spanish speaking and take 1.5 hour with a certified guide that will talk to us about the history and the secrets of the Mayans and will point out the most important sites and then enjoy free time to walk around or take some pictures and enjoy the 2x1 at Mayaland bar.
Then we will get together again to see the Light and Sound Show that begins at 8:00pm in spring/summer and at 7:00pm in autumn/wonter where you can listen and admire a projected light shadow over the archaeological elements of the buildings that resemble a serpent desending to the ground, Mayan warriors playing the ball game and the sounds of death and life. This is an exciting show full of history, lights effects and awesome ancestry.
Only with us you can get in and out as many times as you want from the archaeological site because we use a private entrance steps away from Mayaland and enjoy the swimming pools. |
Optional add-ons:
You have the option to add a side trip to the Ikkil Underwater Grotto, an amazing and beautiful cenote located just a block away from the Mayaland Hotel. Splash into the crystal clear waters of this natural pool. Cenotes are natural formations found only in the Yucatan, formed when fragments of the meteorite that ended the dinosaur era crashed into the earth. This 30 minute visit is taken right after the guided archaeological tour, just when you need to take a splash to cool down.
Explore the most recently discovered part of Chichen Itza in a horseback riding tour through the ancient Mayan jungle. You'll head deep within the foliage to a seldom seen part of Chichen Itza not found in any regular tour. Remember - you will be in the middle of the jungle! Bring long pants and bug repellent for this side-trip.
